Dazzling Tong Gu - A Jewel of the Southern China Sea

你因伏波遗鼓而远名，
You become famous from the story of Fubo’s bronze drum;
你因南海壮阔而秀美；
You look graceful with the grand Southern China Sea.
南海三千余里湾和岸，
Among three thousand kilometres coastline of beaches and bays,
秀峰十八镶嵌闪绚烂。
Eighteen marvellous mountains shine and inlay.
层层叠叠蜿蜒翠彧彧，
The lush shade of trees meander layers upon layers;
云雾缭绕宛人间仙境。
Misty clouds wreathe around in the fairyland on earth.
群龙翘首腾飞莺歌舞，
Waves hail like a million dancing dragons,
铜鼓震天胖五揽星球。
Await for Long March V to soar beyond.
醉美铜鼓，
Fascinating Tong Gu,
人间仙境。
Fairyland on earth.
虽无泰山之雄，
Though not as imposing as Mount Tai,
却如大海崛起的蛟龙。
But impressive like a rising dragon from the sea.
虽无华山之险，
Though not as thrilling as Mount Huashan,
却如坐镇边疆的卧虎。
But mighty like a crouching tiger sit on borderland.
虽无黄山之奇，
Though not as astonishing as Mount Huang,
却如惊涛奔腾的骏马，
But amazing like a surging steed in stormy waves.
文人墨客心弛往，
Men of letters are fascinated by such stunning views,
华彩诗篇共传唱：
And eulogise with exquisite poetry:
赞铜鼓——
They praise—
高耸苍茫铜鼓峰，
The lofty and vast Tong Gu hill,
云飘雾绕仍从容。
Surround with hazy mist and standing still.
庐山面目何时识？
Appreciate its true beauty
四季风雨造化工。
After seasons of nature’s sculpture.
游铜鼓——
They visit—
一纵登临目，
苍茫太宇空。
凭高独舒啸，
宛在水晶宫。
One leap ascend, I see the boundless sky. Gleaming ripples floating among the extending mountains; steep cliffs bring one back to the primordial world. Stoney grounds witness dragons racing, stormy tides contend for hegemony. Stretching my arms on the summit, it feels like living in the Crystal Palace.
咏铜鼓——
They celebrate—
俯看风吹岭上云，
椰浆山果倍清芬。
伏波去后遗铜鼓，
尤对沧冥警寇氛。
On the mountaintop, overlooking the clouds blowing in the breeze. Coconut milk and wild fruits combine to accentuate the delicate fragrance. Fubo left a bronze drum when he departed, as he is still wary of the enemy's arrogance.
璀璨铜鼓，
Dazzling Tong Gu,
南海明珠。
A Jewel of the Southern China Sea.
你因沧桑厚实而动人，
You are appealing for your history and story,
你因丰润旖旎而迷人；
You are glamorous for your riches and charm;
山海林田河石景，
The scenes of mountain, ocean, forest, fields, river, and rocks,
烟雨沙浪波光粼。
Display under the effect of fog, rain, sand, waves, ripples, and light.
海石银滩惊骇浪，
Dominant waves are thrashing seaside rocks and silver coasts,
佛光普照泽人间。
Just as Buddha’s glory gushing to the world.
月亮湾畔新人笑，
Couples smiling with the rhymes of the Moon Bay,
风动石巅高歌曲。
Songs flowing with the movements of the Wind-tap Rock.
淇水九天揽星月，
Qishui Bay seizes a sky of stars and moonlight,
七洲渔火流溢彩。
The Seven Hills are lightened by sparks on fishing boats.
夜色阑珊尽欢颜，
A night fades away with all delights
椰风海韵醉游人。
Left alone to the enchanted travellers in mellow vibes.
护送海龟呈祥云，
Escort sea turtles to go back home,
低碳出行已蔚然。
Low-carbon living becomes a norm.
海碧天蓝地翠绿，
Such a scene of blue sky, azure sea, and green land,
宾朋如织谁舍去？
Captivated all visitors alike.
物华天宝人地灵，
Such a place of treasures and wonders
美景如画竟流连。
Lingers as the picturesque.
铜鼓面目何时识？
Ask for how is Tong Gu like?
无限风光在此峰！
Infinite landscapes here to find.
